2. Type of data collected and purpose of data processing

The Foundation collects and processes, in particular, personal data that is transmitted to it – including via the digital application platform ‘Spheriq’ – in the course of an application, a donation or any other form of contact. This generally includes:

  • Surname, first name

  • Address/contact details

  • Email address

  • Financial information (amounts, payment method, etc.)

This data is used specifically for the purpose of processing applications and managing the Foundation, as well as for maintaining other forms of contact. Furthermore, data may be processed to fulfil statutory and regulatory obligations regarding disclosure, information or reporting (e.g. to courts or authorities) and to safeguard other legitimate interests of the Foundation.

 3. Use of the website (cookies)

The Foundation uses cookies on its website. These are files stored on your device to track your visit to the website. However, these are not personal data but merely technical cookies designed to enhance user-friendliness. You can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your device or delete them.

4. Data security and data users

The Foundation employs the best possible technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against manipulation, loss or unauthorised access.

Within the Foundation, access is granted only to those persons who require the relevant data to fulfil their duties (‘need to know’). Where third parties, such as data processors, are engaged, this is done in accordance with the applicable provisions, in that these third parties are also obliged to comply with data protection requirements. Otherwise, information may only be made available to third parties where there is a corresponding legal basis for doing so (e.g. law, regulation, consent, etc.).

5. Duration of data storage

The period for which personal data is stored is determined by the purpose of the data processing in question or by the duration of the legitimate interest involved. Where statutory retention periods apply, the Foundation complies with them.

6. Data protection rights

Every data subject has the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection. There is also a right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority and a right to withdraw consent to data processing (the latter only with effect for the future).

7. Changes

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time. The version published on the website shall apply.
