Please familiarise yourself with our funding priorities and read the following information carefully before submitting a funding application.

Important information: We accept funding applications exclusively via the ‘Spheriq’ platform. Applications sent by post or email cannot be accepted and will not be replied to. Thank you for your understanding.

Exclusion Criteria

The Foundation does not support the following areas:

  • Projects outside the defined funding areas

  • Applications from individuals

  • Scholarships

  • Publications (e.g. book or film productions)

  • Construction projects

  • Projects aimed at securing indefinite funding

  • Applications for retrospective funding or deficit guarantees

  • Corporate, sponsorship or promotional events

  • Projects of a commercial nature

Please note:

  • The Foundation Board usually meets four times a year (at the end of January, mid-May, mid-September and the end of November).

  • Decisions on funding lie exclusively within the authority of the Foundation Board.

  • The funding amounts vary widely in terms of their actual size. Depending on the project, multi-year grants may also be awarded.

  • Applications must be submitted no later than four weeks before the Foundation Board meetings and two months before the project begins.

  • The Foundation Board may reject applications following a preliminary review. At Board meetings, only those applications that are in principle eligible for funding are discussed. However, the fact that an application is discussed by the Board does not guarantee approval – not all applications can be answered positively.
